We are pleased to introduce Alexane Poirier, our physiotherapist who has developed expertise in pediatrics and practices at Hexa Physio La Prairie. Alexane is trained to treat a variety of children’s conditions, and her gentle, attentive approach makes her a valuable ally for parents wanting the best for their children.
Here’s an overview of the conditions we’ll be treating:
- Torticollis: This common disorder in infants causes the head to tilt to one side. In addition to demonstrating some exercises you can do at home, Alexane will use specific techniques to relax tense muscles and restore a neutral position.
- Plagiocephaly: This condition is characterized by asymmetrical flattening of the infant’s head. We offer treatments to help reshape the head and prevent asymmetries
- Developmental coordination disorder (DCD): For children who have difficulty coordinating their movements, our approach aims to develop strategies to improve coordination and self-confidence.
- Obstetrical brachial plexus palsy (PBOPP): These injuries can occur during childbirth and affect movement and sensation in the arm. We work to improve function and promote optimal recovery.
- Mild motor development disorders (0-2 ans): Delays in early motor development can be a sign of underlying conditions. Our team assesses and proposes interventions to encourage normal development.
