The evaluation is carried out by a bike fitting technician or a physiotherapist with expertise in cycling. This professional has completed certification offered by Physiovélo, a continuing education provider specializing in cycling since 2015, which offers hundreds of hours of training.
Pre-Evaluation Questionnaire and Bike Inspection: The technician reviews your completed form and conducts a safety check on your bicycle before proceeding with the evaluation.
Subjective Evaluation: The technician will talk to you about your goals, cycling habits, footwear, past injuries, etc.
Off-Bike Objective Evaluation: To evaluation your movements, muscle strength and mobility, the technician will ask you to perform a few exercises.
On-Bike Objective Evaluation: After a warmup, the technician will analyze your pedalling biomechanics and take several measurements. They will observe your ankles, knees, hips, pelvis, back, shoulders, neck, and hands. This evaluation is carried out with your shoes on a training stand to accurately simulate the experience of cycling.
Recommendations: Once the assessment is complete, the technician provides feedback on observations and adjustments. Recommendations may include advice on cycling hygiene or equipment modifications, such as a new saddle.
Bring your bike, your shoes, your least comfortable cycling shorts, removable accessories for your bike frame, and all necessary equipment for cycling (yes, even your helmet).
